Villa Ocean Rox

The terrace is generous. There are sun loungers along the pool and several places to sit, some in the sun and some in the shade, so people can move around as the day goes on. The outdoor dining table and the barbecue are out here too, and dinner can stay outside right through the evening with the bay below.

One long table for ten

Inside, the main floor is a single open-plan room. The kitchen, the dining area and the lounge share it, and the dining table seats all ten of you at once, which is rarer in a villa this size than you might think. The furniture is arranged to face the coast, and a run of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opens straight onto the pool terrace. On a warm day you can push them back and the room and the terrace become one space. The interiors are contemporary, and the whole villa has air conditioning.

A whole floor for playing

The lower ground floor sets Villa Ocean Rox apart. There is a cinema room for film nights. The games area has a pool table and an air hockey table, and there is a bar alongside. Younger children have a play area of their own. And for anyone keeping up their training on holiday there is a gym, with a sauna close by for afterwards.

It means a family can split up for a few hours without anyone leaving the villa. Teenagers can go downstairs while someone else stays by the pool, and nobody is short of something to do on a lazy afternoon.

Freestanding baths in two suites

There are five bedrooms: four doubles and one twin. Each has an en suite shower room and a sea view. Two of the doubles are laid out as master suites, and each of these has a freestanding bathtub as well, which makes them the obvious choice for two couples sharing the villa. The twin is a good fit for children, or for two friends who would rather not share a bed.

Between Kalamar Bay and Kalkan

Kalamar sits on the western side of Kalkan, around its own bay. From the villa the sea is 1 km away and the nearest restaurant is 1 km too. A shop is within walking distance at 600 metres, which is handy for bread, milk and cold drinks.

Kalkan centre is 1.9 km away. That is where you will find the old town, with its narrow streets and rooftop restaurants, and the harbour, where the boats go out along the coast. Kaş is further east along the same stretch of coast if you fancy a day out.

There is a garage as well as a parking space, so a hire car or two can be kept off the road. The villa also has a security alarm and a safe for passports and valuables.
