Situated just above the main D400 road, which skirts the town centre of Kalkan, the Kiziltas district is home to a variety of luxury villas boasting panoramic sea views from its high position. Purportedly one of the oldest settlements in Kalkan, the name “Kiziltas’ literally means ‘red rock’ and derives from the crimson stone found along the district's rising incline. Over the years, the area was primarily covered by olive groves, some of which remain today.The positioning of the villas is staggered up the hillside, which allows for uninterrupted views for the most part. The area faces south and is ideally positioned to observe the sensational sunsets set behind the hillside on the opposite side of Kalkan. Guests who choose accommodation in this part of Kalkan tend to enjoy a leisurely walk down into the town but use taxis for the return journey due to the continuous incline from the centre up to Kiziltas.
